Totoy bilisan mo, bilisan mo ang takbo
Hurry up, kid; run fast
Dodge the bombs aimed at your head
Totoy tumalon ka, dumapa kung kailangan
Jump, kid; duck if needed
Lest you get hit by stray bullets
Totoy makinig ka, wag kang magpa-gabi
Listen up, kid; don’t stay out in the middle of the night
Lest they’d suspect and you’d end up on the side of the road
Kid, do you know the root cause
Ng di matapos-tapos na kaguluhang ito
Of this never-ending chaos

Hindi pula’t dilaw tunay na magkalaban
Red and yellow are not real enemies
Color and mark are not the alibi
Hangga’t marami ang lugmok sa kahirapan
As long as many people are enslaved by poverty
And justice is exclusively for the wealthy

Habang may tatsulok at sila ang nasa tuktok
So long as the triangle exists and they are at the top
Di matatapos itong gulo
This chaos will never come to an end

Secure the breath of countless people
At ang dating munting bukid, ngayo’y sementeryo
And the formerly small farm is now a cemetery
Totoy kumilos ka, baliktarin ang tatsulok
Get moving, kid; turn the triangle upside down
Tulad ng dukha, nailagay mo sa tuktok
Like the poverty-stricken that you put at the top

[Repeat pre-chorus and chorus]

[Repeat: pre-chorus, chorus, chorus]

Di matatapos itong gulo…
This chaos will never come to an end

Random rambling:

  • There’s a reason a chose this song in this exact moment. First, I felt that I haven’t tried translating a song like this–something that has apparent subversive message. Second, well, Philippine elections are coming up in a few months. And I need something to hold on to. Maybe we all do.
  • I hope the next administration will seek to challenge the system that’s been crippling our nation. Big dream, I know. But that’s the best I can do regarding our politicians.
